We are excited to share that there will be an Old Time Music Jam every 1st and 3rd Sundays (1-4pm) at High Branch Brewing!

This jam is for traditional, old time fiddle tunes (claw hammer banjo, fiddle, guitar, upright bass). The first jam is scheduled for 11/19. Bring your instruments and let's play!

The jam is open to the public and in the background (We just ask to keep the genre as Old Time).

For those who dont know:

Old Time Music is a form of traditional American music that came before BlueGrass. Many of us love bluegrass too!

Old Time has its roots in early America (Irish, Scottish,English, Africa, ect.). The main difference is the fiddler leads the tunes and the type of banjo is an open back played in the style of clawhammer/old time instead of fingerpicking.

Some of the other instruments that you might see in an old time jam are acoustic guitars and upright basses. You may even see some ukes, harmonicas, mandolins, washboards, spoons/bones from time to time.
